Gillespie’s Bakery started in 2014 when the Gillespie family was running their farm market, Gillespie’s Garden.  The family decided quality baked goods was a needed addition to their many products! Angela was up for the challenge. A self-taught baker, she enjoys making sweet treats for people. After the Gillespie family stopped selling vegetables and moved into just selling strawberries, Angela got a job elsewhere. She is now back at it and doing what she loves!

Gillespie’s Bakery wouldn’t be possible without the help of Angela’s husband, Ting. He is the photographer, website creator, and too many other things to list!

We use only quality ingredients for our desserts and use local whenever possible. We also make everything by hand, this includes our flaky pastry! Our kitchen is fully inspected by the Region of Waterloo health unit.

 

When Angela and Ting aren’t working they love to spend time with family and friends. They have one cat named Daphne.  Ting is an avid woodworker and Angela likes to punch needle. They also enjoy finding new cafes to visit and love exploring wineries in Ontario.
